Amelia’s new image!

Amelia has been radio silent again. It seems that wordpress is not accessible from the shores of china right now…so there’s little point in updating, but I shall nonetheless.

Amelia has been busy making products at the new factory. All still handmade and jarred, but now with the adequate QS license that means you can buy Amelia’s at a supermarket near you. Hopefully in just a few more months.

What has Amelia been up to….?!

Dearest Customers,

I have definitely not been great at keeping in contact with you all. Things at Amelia’s have been slightly ridiculous on the work load front and have left me feeling like i’ve been hit by a train. However, it has all been worth it!

Last week was a mammoth week (I was meant to post all the events -sorry!) starting with an event at Dada on wednesday night (next one in November) with Little Blue Cart back at the night slot BBQ’d sausages. Thursday, Friday and Saturday saw Pantry at the Eco Lifestyles fair where we had the opportunity to mix and mingle with like minded brands and develop our network of friends. Then Sunday for the grand finale at the Black Rabbit Festival. Pantry and Little Blue Cart took a slot. Amelia’s was there with Lemonade, hummus and bagel chips and the (now pretty famous) sausages!

I must admit, I was pretty proud of my queue at my LBC stand. It was at least a continuous line of 50 people for a good 3 or 4 hours. That’s a first for me and means I’ll definitely be back next year! There were a few moments on saturday evening that panic’d about the amount of sausages and then (more importantly) realised I didn’t even have any charcoal – resulted in a small meltdown and my faithful aiyi to the rescue – if you’re ever in emergency need, go to your local peiking duck restaurant to buy from them. All sausages sold out and there was absolutely no way I could have grilled them any faster. One learning curve that I didn’t think about was just how long it takes to cook up 450 sausages….at least 7 hours! Even if your BBQ’s pretty large. Next time I might have to have 3 little blue carts and a whole gang of helpers. Don’t think i’ve been dirtier than by the end of that session. Was pretty intense and exhausting – but absolutely worth it. Thank you to all those patient customers.

LBC can be found every other weekend at Jiashan Market alongside Amelia’s jams and chutneys. So why not come down this saturday to check it out. It’s actually meant to be a barmy 26 degrees and sunny! That will be a first for Jiashan market.

PANTRY

A group of 5 brilliant little companies have come together to form PANTRY. Pantry combines Spread the Bagel, Trenchers, OMG, Strictly Cookies and Amelia’s in a co-op format to present all our products together under one roof. Check out our place at 90 nanyang lu, near xikang lu.

Pantry was most recently at the American Chambers 4th July event. It was rocking (see the pictures below) and we gave away over 2000 of our delicious products.
